Looking for things to do in Barbados? You are in luck! This weekend is an exciting one as the annual Independence Pro and Soup Bowl Junior Pro 2011 surfing competition returns. Featuring international and local pro surfers and of course our very own female surfing star Chelsea Tuach, ranked number 5 in the world! The talent pool is exceptional and is all across the board (there’s a pun for ya!) for this competition and every year locals and tourists flock to the shores of Bathsheba to catch the action. This is a two day event starting on Saturday morning and the adrenaline doesn’t stop pumping until the sun sets on Sunday evening.
For those visiting the island, Bathsheba is on the east side and is home to the famous Soup Bowl surf break, one of the best surfing spots in the entire Caribbean. There will be food on sale such as BBQ chicken, burgers, hot dogs etc. And don’t worry, there will be drinks on sale too, from beer to rum to coconut water! Its all happening at the Soup Bowl this weekend so be sure not to miss this great event. Come on out, meet the locals, meet the foreigners, meet Barbados at its best!
