Tour Description
On arrival enjoy a light breakfast snack then commence the tour with a drive through Castries, viewing historic landmarks including the Castries Market and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Arrive to Morne Fortune and witness the panoramic views of the city along with the seventeenth century historic buildings and relics of the wars fought for this beautiful isle. Continue along the west coast where you will enjoy an aerial view of Marigot Bay, before passing through the largest banana plantation on the island. Proceed along the winding mountain roads through the fishing villages of Anse-La-Raye and Canaries, in search of the old French capital of Soufriere with its famous landmarks— the twin volcanic Pitons.
Arrive to the Sulphur Springs (the world’s only drive-in volcano) where knowledgeable guides will fill you in on the history of the bubbling craters. Next is a locally influenced lunch. Afterwards its off to the Botanical Gardens where you will discover the Diamond Waterfalls and hot mineral springs believed to offer medicinal properties. After all the fascinating scenery, commence the leisurely drive back north stopping at a beach for a quick swim (if time permits) before arriving to the airport for your return flight to Barbados.
